As things change from week to week, school schedules will be mostly Remote Learning, and social outlets for kids unavailable — WE HAVE A SOLUTION! Come join us and keep your young athlete moving. We provide a fun active outlet with Coaches dedicated to health, wellness, and fitness.

Teen Class Structure

Sports and activities on the back-burner?
Possibly no school athletics this fall?
Is your teen’s education remote this fall?
Is your home schooler in need of physical education?

CrossFit Optimistic’s dedicated Teen Classes will ensure a safe, distanced environment with a great strength and conditioning program specifically tailored to teenagers. Coach Forrest, our CrossFit Teen Coach, will guide, assist, and lead teens from 3PM - 4PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During each class he will focus on teaching proper technique and movement patterns.

Coach Forrest

Coach Forrest started out as a CrossFit teen almost 10 years ago. He has been coaching adults and kids for the past 6 years and knows how to appropriately scale young athletes in a fun and engaging way. His priority is teaching kids good technique and a love for life-long fitness!

Forrest is a Texas A&M graduate, Class of 2017 with a B.S. in Chemistry. Avidly participating in the CrossFit community, he had volunteered at multiple CrossFit Regionals and has volunteered at the CrossFit Games. He puts the optimism in CrossFit Optimistic. He holds the Crossfit Level 2 certification.

What will my child learn from CrossFit Teen class?

Not only will your teen get stronger and learn how to use a barbell but they will take away life lessons. Build mental toughness, gain confidence, get outside their comfort zone, the list is endless. Will weightlifting negatively affect my child’s growth?

In short, no. Through safe and proper technique in all the weightlifting movements your child will gain proficiency and understanding on how to use a barbell. In fact, weightlifting has been shown to reduce the risk of injuries for muscles and joints. Here is a CrossFit Kids article dispelling myths about kids and weightlifting.
