About Hanna Hawkins

Hanna has been a nutrition coach for 5 years, working with clients of all ages and backgrounds from working professionals to competitive athletes to grandparents. Over the last 15 years Hanna has tried many different nutrition regimens and has found that macronutrient counting is the best way to live a healthy lifestyle without depriving herself of the foods she loves. Her nutrition coaching not only touches on nutrition, but also fitness, lifestyle changes, sleep, and building better habits. When Hanna is not working as a nutrition coach, you will find her CrossFitting and spending time with her family.

Making a commitment for a healthier lifestyle

Changing your nutrition and eating habits is not a quick fix. It takes time to adjust to new nutrition habits and start feeling the difference in your body. In order to truly see if this is a good fit for you, Hanna recommends committing for a minimum of 3 months. The goal is to empower you to achieve well-being through nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle changes.

Getting Started 

Ready to start? Simply email Hanna at coach@m2nutrition.com to get started. For current CrossFit Optimistic members the nutrition program is $135/month and for non-members it is $165/month. After Hanna sends you the payment link, she will follow-up with a welcome packet that includes a questionnaire, a list of items you’ll need for success, and all the information you need to get started. After the questionnaire and the initial assessment are completed Hanna will make an individualized plan for you.

What is macronutrient counting?

Carbohydrate, protein, and fat are macronutrients or "macros." Targeted "macro" counting is when you count the grams of carbohydrate, protein, and fat you consume in a day. By measuring your macros, you can maximize and dial in your nutrition to meet your lifestyle goals, whether that's losing weight, gaining muscle mass, or simply looking to build better eating habits. After completing your initial assessment, Hanna will make you a personalized plan.

I’ve been doing the rounds with nutrition programs and approaches over the years- if you can name it, chances are I’ve done it! But nothing else I’ve tried has come close to the sustainability and effectiveness I’ve had through working one-on-one with Hanna. My program is customized to my goals, my schedule and my activity level with oversight and feedback on a weekly basis to keep me moving forward.

Not only is Hanna knowledgeable, she’s supportive, encouraging and eager to help me learn about my body and how I function best in and out of the gym. Hanna’s helped me learn what foods work best for me, the amount of food I need to eat to fuel my activities, and when I need to eat to have the most energy. In 4 months of working with Hanna, I’ve cut out caffeine, increased my water intake and improved my sleep, all while losing 17 pounds and increasing my strength, speed and stamina.

Gained 3 pounds of muscle & lost 1.5% in body fat

Last year I decided to take care of myself through a good diet, exercise, and vitamins. I went from 22% body fat down to 14% eating healthy foods below 1800 calories a day and working out like crazy 6 days a week.

However, it became a problem when I stayed on that same diet the whole year. Despite my efforts, I was slowly losing muscle and gaining body fat. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I met Hanna, CrossFit Optimistic’s Nutrition Coach. She said I'm not eating enough. I ended up taking a chance and hiring her.

She asked me to trust her and increased my calorie intake to 2400. 175 grams of protein, 200 grams of carbs, 100 grams of fat. And most importantly, over 7 hours of sleep. In ONLY A WEEK AND A HALF, I gained 3 pounds of muscle and lost 1.5 percentage in body fat. I've been bouncing off of walls with energy. I've been depriving myself this whole time.
